Mike and Lenna Uhlinger always dreamed of opening their own Jiu Jitsu Gym. Together they opened MGA Jiu Jitsu in 2012 and have been teaching and running it since. Coach Mike is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Coach Lenna is a Black Belt with First Degree. Both received their Black Belts from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion Cassio Werneck. Together they have over 35 years experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and over 20 years teaching experience.

They are passionate about Jiu Jitsu and it shows in their teaching. Both Mike and Lenna are excited to share their love of Jiu Jitsu with you!

Mike and Lenna are the parents to a beautiful 3 year old daughter Aspen who has been on the mats since before birth and even took her first steps on the mats. Their second daughter Autumn was just born in November. Mike and Lenna look forward to adding you to their growing Jiu Jitsu Family.

Mixed Grappling Arts isn't just a name; it's a way of training.

Most styles of grappling have a certain set of techniques they don't use or allow.

For Example ...

Traditional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu schools don't practice throws or leg locks.

Russian Sambo doesn't allow chokes.

Wrestling doesn't allow submissions.

Judo doesn't allow wrestling style takedowns to the legs or leg locks.

Although our rank is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, at Mixed Grappling Arts, we allow all grappling techniques. Chokes, Arm Locks, Leg Locks, Throws, Takedowns. The name is meant to remind us to learn from everyone. We strive to be complete grapplers, to be a "Mixed Martial Arts" of Grappling.
